Olive Donaldson
We were quite saddened at the news of the passing of our
dear friend and long time Fiddle Family Member
extraordinaire Olive Donaldson. Olive had been a part
of District 6 since nearly the very beginning and served on
the District 6 board, and in many other ways served our
organization ever since. Officially she was the leader
of the Back 40 String Band, the District 6 Western Open
Representative, The Western Open Board, and competed in many
Fiddle Contests and Fiddle Jam Sessions, Fiddlegrams, played
as a musician for many many events in the North State area,
and the list just goes on and on. But mostly, Olive
was our friend, a good friend, and we do miss her, a lot.We will have a tribute page to honor Olive and the life and music she shared with all of us soon. But for now and respecting the wishes of her family we are just posting this simple announcement. |

| Jam Songs - The Short
List |
|
| The list of songs below
are some of the more common one's we play at the Monthly
Jam's. For a more complete list you could look at
the list of songs in the Back-Up Book. Of course
there are a myriad of songs that fall into the "old time
fiddle music" basket but these would be a start for the
circle jams where everyone in the circle has a chance to
play the melody. |
