The Weaverville Open Fiddle Contest
There was serious fiddling around in Weaverville this past weekend as the Weaverville Open
Fiddle Contest celebrated its sixth year with competition in fiddle, twin fiddle and flatpick.
The jamming was hot on and off the stage. In addition, the audience was treated to a talent
showcase by Martha Boyle’s beginning students, and some fabulous and funny music by
the local group, Timber Ridge. Finally, the evening was capped off with a brilliant and soulful
performance by Deep Chatham, a North Carolina Band.

Weaverville is a wonderful town located in Northern California in the heart of the beautifuly famous Trinity Alps.  About one hour west of Redding, take Iinterstate 5 to Redding and head West on Highway 299.  The Trinity Alps Performing Arts Center is on the right hand side of Highway 299 just as you enter town.
